Christmas

We had such a Great Christmas!
To start things off, Morgan reminded us that we needed to make Santa cookies.

We made Grandma Lila's orange cookies with fresh squeezed orange juice.
Santa ate everything we gave him!!

For dinner we got out the fancy silverware and sparkling apple cider--We celebrated with "style".

Santa Hit a homerun with Caleb's toy. Bryce loves it as well.

He and Corry both got skateboards. We spent yesterday and today perfecting the "ollie"--well almost perfecting it.

Corry liked his present tons. He's already added a bunch of you to his contacts, so beware.

Morgan got, among other things (barbies, chixos, and bendaroos)--New Jammies. Here she is atop Chelsea's tractor. Santa got it and the Thomas train for free--What a thrifty chap.

Hope you all had equally good days.

It's Snowing in Long Beach

Here are a few of this year's snowflakes.......We have them all hanging from the ceiling.

It's raining, it's pouring!

It is raining! A good hard rain, the kind that makes the street turn into a river and you can hear it on the roof. I listened to it all night. It made me want to snuggle up in my covers.

The kids were excited to get out with cumbrellas and splash around. My kids are true californians. It is cold and wet and Morgan is out in flip flops and capris. Actually it is a great idea. I hate wet socks and wet shoes and when the hem of your pants get wet. Flip flops and capris. Great idea. Maybe that is what I will wear to work tonight!

Also a good day for hot chocolate! Stephens chocolate and raspberry. Just the right thing.

Stitches for Bryce

Well, it has finally happened! We had our first childhood injury. During football practice (I thought flag football was safe) yesterday Bryce and another kid hit heads and Bryce came away with a gash over his left eye. After a trip to the ER, 6 stitches and a hamburger he is on the mend. I was really glad Dave was around to take him to the ER. I am not the best around blood (Eewww). He is doing pretty well.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away.

New phone!

I got a new cell phone tonight. It is really fancy. I will probably never figure out how to use it!

I called Tina this afternoon and we will be heading down ther for Thanksgiving on Thursday. She was in Long Beach at the time, wierd! She was picking up her sister from the airport. Tomorrow they will be going to Disheyland. We were planning on being there tomorrow also! Double wierd! We will have to meet them there! Super fun! We are blessed with great friends.

Last day of school for Bryce and Morgan until January. They took pumpkin bread for their teachers. Bryce is so sweet, he wanted to take one for Ms Jamali (his teacher last year). He remembered that she liked pumpkin bread. How could I pass up a sweet gestrue like that! I made four loaves, one for ms Beck, one for ms Frausto, one for ms Jamali and one for us! Yummy. It makes the house smell so good. I love holiday baking.

Fun with the banner!

I learned how to make a banner today in Picasa! Really fun! I think I might do one for the Jones family blog.

A Busy Sunday

Kari Davis collapsed in Relief Society today. We brought Mikaila, Caitlin and Gabrielle home with us. I was glad to be able to help. She is going to be fine, just a night in the hospital to monitor her recovery (she has addisons disease). We enjoyed having the girls over. It was a nice change to the usually Sunday boredom.

Corry went to his first youth fireside. I think he enjoyed it. The speaker was very good.

The Beginning

This is not really the beginning. But a continuation in an attempt to record the history of our family. What is not recorded is forgotten. Too many precious memories eventually fade. I want to remember.
*** This is the First Official post of this blog .
I am adding some recent events and back dating them to their right dates, so there are older posts.

Corry gets the Preisthood

Corry recieved the preisthood on November 8th. Dave ordained him to be a deacon. Grandma and Grandpa Jones drove down to be here for the occasion. We were so glad to have them here. Dave had been in Middleburg and flew home on Saturday night just in time. He gave Corry a very nice blessing.

Corry is a great Deacon! He is always there to pass the sacrament and loves Young Mens. He has kind of a small group of YM but he enjoys the activities.

Halloween Fun!

Halloween was a lot of fun!
Here is the rundown:
Dave - Friar
Angie-Cowgirl (not pictured)
Corry and Phillip-Sheet Ghosts
Bryce and Caleb-Cowboys
Morgan-Glamour Witch
Chelsea-Bumblebee (same as her older sibling on their first Halloween)

The festivities included spending the day at Orizaba Park setting up the WESCA Halloween Carnival! A good time was had by all! I especially enjoy this event because I always get to by all the candy (somewhere between $500 and $700). That is the funnest shopping trip of the year!
We then attended the carnival and won candy and prizes galour!
Our next stop was the Burns' Halloween party!
We enjoyed good food, friends and trick or treating!

Corry Turns 12! (Could he really be that old?)

Corry Turned 12 on October 30th!

He went to Disneyland for the day with just Mom! What a treat! He skipped most of the day of school. He went to a couple of classes in the morning that he didn't want ot miss. So responsible already and he had only been 12 for a few hours!
Disneyland was giving free admission on your birthday and we used his ticket to get season passes. Now we are in for a full year of magic!

We started out at California Adventure

First a trip down Grizzly Rapids!

(Great pic mom!)

We hardly got wet, but it was a warm day so we were fine and all dry pretty soon!

A Picture with Lightning and Mater

California Adventure was decked out for Halloween with Candy Corns!
I Vish Candy Corn was a Vengtable!

Toy Story was super fun

The Rest of the Day:

What a fun day!

Happy Birthday Corry!

At the end of October Morgan recieved her second award from Mrs Beck.

She was the Classes Math Scholar!

She recieved the award in a cermony and I was invited to attend.

We sure love Mrs Beck and Mr Beck too (who regularly subs and keeps the kids in stiches with his funny sense of humor). Mrs Beck has got to be the sweetest teacher and one of the most lovely people I have ever met. Morgan gets a weekly report every friday where I see what her behavior is for the week (always blue for a great day)!
Each week I write Mrs Beck a note telling her how much we love her. We have been so lucky for Corry, Bryce and Morgan all having her! She will be transitioning with the kids next year so Morgan will have her for two years in a row! Yeah for Mrs Beck!

On a side note, this is a picture of my back that Caleb took as we were leaving the awards ceremony:

Nice, Caleb. I don't even remember him having the camera.
